Beijo Buddy Rescue: June 10, 2012   This past sunday June 10th to be exact, my husband and I were on our way home and there was a traffic jam. We looked between the cars and lo and behold there was a large German Shepherd in the middle of the street trying to get to the park on the other side where doggies where playing. He was oblivious to all the traffic around him. My heart was literally in my throat! My husband & I ( safely ) got out of the car and coaxed him into our car. He gladly hopped in you could tell he was used to riding in cars. I’ve seen this scenario  play out so many times before in a horrible way with someone’s pet getting hit or worse killed. Today I was determined that wasn’t going to happen! Pets especially young ones  don’t necessarily know to fear cars. This definitely was the case with this one, he was so mesmerized by the park & other doggies playing he didn’t even notice. After we got him in the car we pulled into the park and put a rope around his neck & let him out for a drink of water. Because it was sunday evening all the places I knew to call were closed. He had no identification on but I could tell he was local to the area. We hung out for awhile and lo and behold, a woman was walking around with a leash in her hand and a worried look on her face. I approached her and found out the pooch I had rescued was hers WHEW! Thank God! His name is Yo Yo and he is a beautiful HUGE German Sheppard. She spoke no english, so I practiced what little Chinese I knew and found out Yo Yo bolted from the door of her home when she opened the front door. We hugged each other and Yo Yo was delighted to be back with his mommy Emily. I just love helping the animal babies when I can and happy endings!
